In, out, in front, behind

Spatial skills:  Today we studied In, Out, In front of, and behind.  I have made a bunch of file folder games for my kids to learn.  The Colorful File Folder Games PreK by Carson Dellosa is my personal favorite so far. Each game is brightly colored and the variety of games from ABC's to counting, spacial to rhymes.  The booklet includes a variety of activities for you to easily paste in folders and laminate for use.

Fine Motor Skill:
Hide little beads in a large piece of play dough or putty.  Using their index finger, have your child find the beads.  Using their thumb is "cheating" and not working the weaker muscles.

Fluttershy loves it when we do this with different objects.  It's like a treasure hunt in the house.

Then I added in a counting game and had her count the beads which added two skills into one.

  1. I see the ABCMouse button at the bottom of your page and I wondered if you've ever been to Starfall.com. It's awesome for letters/phonics/reading and most of it is free :)
