Week 18

We're trying to get back into the swing of things.  Here is our attempt at preschool.  I think we did pretty good.  The girls had fun and we got to try out some of our new toys we just got.

Fluttershy reading her words.

Rarity loves playing with my laminated Alphabet.  It goes with a file folder game that she'll use when she gets 1 year older.

Notice something interesting about this picture?  Hmmm.  Got it?  She's coloring with both hands.  I can't decide if she is more dominate with one hand or another.  She's four and used both hands equally.  I guess Ambidextrous?

Loving the new wood puzzles.  Just perfect for those little hands.

For Christmas my girls got a color wonder set.  Tinkerbell to be exact.  These are great.  They only color on their paper and not their hands, cloths, my table, or the walls.  What couldn't you like about these? And they are fairly inexpensive too.
Here is one that is similar to the one we were just given.  The girls love this.  Rarity is just getting the hang on putting objects into their right spot and Futtershy is getting the hang of putting them largest to smallest.  This is a great activity for shapes, colors, and size.

We found this workbook at Walmart, but It's also sold on Amazon.  It's really nice for covering every subject.  Counting, Patterns, Writing skills, Colors, Social skills, Science, Math, etc.

To Molly's?

I have to apologize for the next weeks posts.  We are still un-packing and my homeschooling stuff is still in boxes.  Starting January 1st we will be back into Pre-schooling fun.   I'll post something everyday, but not quite as long of posts as usual.

Starting the first the 1st of January we'll be starting  some really fun new activities that I hope will inspire you and your kiddos.

I do have to share with you a funny story about Fluttershy:

Christmas night I had planned on making Tamale's for dinner.  A special treat I hardly buy.  Futtershy was hungry and was asking for a snack.  Being so close to dinner I told her she'd have to wait and that we were having Tamale's for dinner.  Shortly after dinner was ready.  I had the girls get up to the table to eat and Futtershy asked when we were going to Molly's?  What? I asked her.  She replied that I told her we were going To Molly's.  Oh no honey, we are eating Tamale's for dinner?  Close enough! What a cutie!

Christmas morning

We had a fun Christmas morning.  The girls had a blast opening up gifts.
The girls got matching strollers along with new Cabbage patch kids.

 They loved the monkey hats.

Fluttershy got a telly the time telling clock.

Fluttershy's list of Christmas fun includes: Cabbage patch doll, Telly the time telling clock, Cooties game, Doll stroller, Monkey hat, Bath fizzies, Dry erase crayons, Water beads, and new pants.

Rarity's list includes: Cabbage patch doll, stroller, xylophone, violet my talking puppy,  Dry erase markers, and Monkey hat.

We had a very fun morning.  The girls should be entertained for quite some time.

As I was helping my husband for 5 minutes, I came back to find Rarity climbing the tower.  Crazy girl.  What was she thinking?

Week 17

We've just moved and are still in boxes so this week we'll be having fun being creative in our adventures.

Today we've been able to find hands on fun and some fun worksheets I was able to dig out of my boxes.

I had to throw Rarity's lovely hair style in.  Just out of the bath and for some reason her hair has so much statistic.  The one of the left definitely shows better.  Such a silly hair day.  Then to top it off she didn't want me to do her hair.  It's ok though because she's going through a phase that she has to wear a hat all day and all night.  Yup when she's sleeping.  Guess I'm going to have to invest in some cute hats since that's all she'll let me do with her hair.

Sensory Fun

I was so excited to find these rocks.  They've been in storage for a while.  My Grandpa gave me these when I was little and I still have them.  While I was looking for something fun for the girls to do I thought these would be fun for them to play with.  They loved playing with them.  They sorted, counted, and found their favorite one.

We talked about which ones were smooth and rough and what colors they were.
My girls thought it was quite the treasure find.

 Movement activity:
With my limited resources I did however find my masking tape.
We used these tape lines to jump over. Eventually it turned into a Red light, Green light game instigated my Fluttershy.

Next we rearranged the tape to make and path to follow.
 Creative Play: Weird Object
What can you do with this?
 Spy glass
Lets see if we can get it on your leg!
I love watching my girls take a piece of garbage and make something of it.

My little helpers putting up the Christmas tree.

I just had to put this one in of my other child.  Chilling by the Christmas tree.
Isn't she cute?
