Making Edible Finger Paint
Messy Play:
Edible finger paint
What you need:
1 can sweetened condensed milk
Food coloring
We love the neon food color dyes for projects like these.
Drop a few color drops in and let the kiddos mix away.
And of course, it's edible. Quite tasty too.
Both the girls loved this activity. Fluttershy was into drawing designs in the paint
she had spread on the paper. And Rarity loved dipping her hands in the
paint and letting it drip on her fingertips. Eventually she started mixing the
pain on the paper after after watching how Fluttershy was mixing hers.
I loved the colors and how vibrant they were. Very pretty
After the girls were done making their masterpieces I decided to try pouring the
remaining pain onto a clear platter. Of course this was a bit hit as a sensory activity. Mixing and swirling. Then of course eventually smearing all over the counter top. BIG Sticky mess. It was worth it for the fun they had.
Today's inspiration came from playathomemom3. I was so excited when I saw this done here and knew we had to try it.
Week 21: Day 1

Read Words: Practice flash cards
Letters (and rhymes) - e
e - dash and a curve
Numbers (and rhymes) - Continue to write numbers 0-5
Math - 5 Senses – Sight & Smell
Colors- Orange
Sensory- Smell
Discuss: What part of our body do we use to smell? Talk about the nose and the job it performs. You may also wish to discuss how animals use their noses to find food. (Idea from Tripod)
Activity: Using different items in your refrigerator, pantry, and bathroom, discuss the smell using words like sour, sweet, etc. Have your child close her eyes or use a blindfold and guess the item that she smells (lemon juice, milk, applesauce, rubbing alcohol, mouthwash, etc.).
