Easter Decorations

Making Easter Egg Decorations

We have had some fun with how we've colored these eggs.  We started out with coffee filters cut in the shape of a egg.

Our first try was using our bingo markers.  With the super absorbent filters the immediately sucked up the colors and depending on how long we held the markers on even absorbed and started blending.

Our next method was fun as well.
Place the filter on a cookie sheet and paint it with water till it's all wet.
We next dropped 3 drops of food coloring and watched them color themselves by the colors bleeding all over.

Our next attempt was dropping several drops of food color on the filter, spraying with water and tilting the pan so the colors drifted down.  We then turned the pan and redirected the colors another way.

We even tried wetting the filter and using water colors on it, but it didn't create the look we were hoping for.

The last way we tried was to fold the egg, and dip the dry egg into dots of paint.  Since the filter is super absorbent they sucked the color right up.
