Rubber Cement Painting

Rubber cement painting

We learned another fun way to paint using rubber cement.

1- First take a piece of paper or card stock and paint with either the brush on the rubber cement container of a Popsicle stick onto the paper.  Create fun and creative designs with the glue and let dry.
2- Next, once the glue is dry paint over it.

We tried tempera paint and water paint and found the water paint worked better.
3- Once the paint has dried, take your finger and rub the rubber cement off.  It'll form little rubber balls.  With the tempera paint we found that if you rub too hard the paint will come off too.  That is why we found the water paints to work better.  The paint doesn't rub off.

The effect is nice turning out into wonderful creations.
