Summer Backyard Party

      Summer backyard party

We had a great day today.  We invited Grandma and Great Grandma over for a back yard party.  Grandma brought some great party foods. Fresh melons, unusual fruit, and young coconuts.  We made fresh pina colada's  with little  umbrellas.  I've never seen this kind of coconut.  You shave the flesh away till you get to the hard shell.  Cut off the top and pour out the coconut milk.  The flesh was so moist and sweet, unlike the traditional hard shelled coconuts you buy in the produce department.    This is a Rambutan.  It comes from Indonesia, Malaysia and Southeast Asia.  They are very odd but yummy.  They have a weird sweet texture.

Then there was the incident.  I missed the initial fall of the pineapple but was able to enjoy the sticky mess afterword.   The story goes, Fluttershy came up to Grandma all dripping saying " I'm really sorry Grandma"  in almost tears.  Grandma calls me in from the other room laughing.  Apparently she tried to get the pineapple down from the counter.  She didn't know that the can was already open, which spilled all over her head.  I couldn't help but laugh.  Pour Fluttershy was so embarrassed and started to cry.  We tried to make light of the incident but she already cried.  I asked her to smile for the picture which she did but was still teary eyed.

  2. Looks like a fun day, even with the spilled pineapple.
