Color Chromatography

Science fun: Color Chromatography Making your own color Chromatography experiments is super easy and only requires 5 items:

• coffee filter


• Black marker (non permanent)


• Pipe cleaner


• Water

Create a circle of black dots about the size of a quarter in the center of the filter.  Wet your pipe cleaner and shake off access water.  Stick the pipe cleaner in the center of the filter and place the end of the pipe cleaner in a a cup of water.  Wait approx. 20 minutes for the best effects. Pull the filter off of the pipe cleaner to dry.  Don't leave on too long or the colors will fade.
