What Fluttershy did this week:
- Saxon K math- For math this week Fluttershy enjoying playing with the counting bears to learn ordinal position to fourth and making designs with pattern blocks. One thing that I love about Saxon K math is the lessons are really just play in an organizing fashion. Someday's is really it's really nice to have those little lessons already planned out for me and she loves them.
- Elemental Science was lessons about floating/sinking. We started out by learning about floating/sinking with a experiment from Science play entitled "Floaters and Sinkers" in which Fluttershy took a bucket around the house in search of items she wanted to test out. Once we collected about 10 items we filled our bucket of water and tested which ones floated/sunk. We logged our findings on our experiment sheet. The next day we did the "Crayon and Paint" Science Play activity where we first drew a picture with our crayon then painted over the drawing with our water colors. The point of this activity was to notice the watercolors won't absorb into the paper where the crayon was. After our art craft we went on a nature walk in search for items found in nature that we could test weather they float/sink. After our walk we went to the city ponds to discover if they float or sink. Our last bonus activity was "pennies in a cup" After filling a cup with water we gently dropped in penny by penny to see how many we could fit in before the water spilled over. It was neat how much the water bulged on top before it finally spilled.
- Passed off I See Sam set 2 Book 13
- Ordinary Parents Guide to Teaching Reading- Moving right along with our reading lessons, Fluttershy learned Digraph sh, ch. She picked these up quickly and will be moving on to the next lesson after a few review lessons.
