After a failed attempt at making the Pinterest fairy dust I decided to try a different route. It also went along with our Exploring science lesson so we killed two birds with one stone.
What you'll need:
- Jar
- Glitter
- glycerin
- water
We put about 1/2 " of glycerin (found in the pharmacy) at the bottom of our jar. Next we added our glitter. Fluttershy chose purple and Rarity chose pink. Next to match our glitter colors we mixed water with Purple or Pink food coloring. Gently we poured it into the jar. Put the jar on tightly and gently shook the jar dispersing the glitter. The glycerin makes the glitter and water move more slowly and will eventually separate to the top. At which point you can either shake the jar up again or gently tilt the jar back and forth making the water look more like waves. Either way is fun to watch.
