Leaf matching
For our lesson today we went for a nature walk around our yard to find deciduous trees. From each tree we collected 2 leaves and placed them into our baggies. Once we had collected leaves from several trees we headed back in the house to take a look at our leaves. Fluttershy noticed that each tree had a different looking leaf. Once we looked at our leaves we played a game of match to find each leafs match.
This activity develops:
- an appreciation of trees
- skills in matching
- awareness of similarity and differences
- listening and following directions
- eye-hand coordination
Thank you so much for sharing on the After School Blog Linky. This is a great activity for siblings to do together. Will be watching to see if your leaves change this fall and you blog about it. Can't wait to see what school aged activity you share next week with us!
