Who Like Ice Cream?

Making homemade ice cream

We made the most fabulous ice cream this weekend.  Of all the ice cream recipes we've made this is our favorite.  Definitely 5 stars.  We got this recipe from my mom's sister-in law Pat.  This is an easy recipe to make and it always turns out great.

Pat’s Burnt Almond Fudge Ice Cream

3 cups sugar

1 cup cocoa

1 tsp. salt

4 beaten eggs

8 cups milk (separated)

5 cups of cream

1 can sweetened condensed milk

¾ tsp almond extract

Toasted Almonds (optional)

Mix sugar, cocoa, eggs,  salt, and 4 cups milk in a sauce pan. Cook on medium heat till the mixture will coat the spoon (Do not boil).  Let it cool and add the rest of the ingredients.  Freeze in a 6 quart ice cream freezer.

Just wanted to share some random ice cream pictures. We made some wonderful home made chocolate ice cream this weekend.  Rarity was wearing her's by the time she was done eating it and each girl asked for more when they'd finished their first bowl.  It was a winner.
