Who Owns the Sun? (FI♥AR)

This weeks Five in a Row was Who Owns the Sun?. It was a very touching story one that I will bring out again when the girls are a few year older. At that point we will did deeper into the book. They enjoyed the story, but didn't fully understand what it meant. I didn't want to dig too much into slavery where they are so young, but we did talk about the beauties of the world and what shouldn't be owned. For this unit we only did the hand sun craft which we hung in their room.
This week we also had fun with a light table with rocks collected from the girls great grandpa. The brightly colored rocks looks very neat with the light shining through them. And in math we covered measuring by half.
