Night of the Moonjellies (FI♥AR)
March 18-22, 2013
"One morning Mark finds a mysterious blob of jelly on the beach. He slides it into a bag of seawater and takes it with him to work to show his grandmother. She promises him a surprise later, and they leave the bag by the sink while they work their food stand. As his grandma and uncle fill orders, Mark refills the straws, napkins, and condiments. After a busy day of work, they close up the stand, and Mark’s grandmother takes him to a boat. The owner drives out to sea, and Mark receives his beautiful surprise." Rainbow Resource
Day 1: Social studies & Language arts
- Made J is for Jellyfish craft. Rarity's is the blue one.
- Located New England on our map
Day 2 Art
- Created jellyfish marbled art
Day 3: Math & science
- Watched several Jellyfish videos of Youtube. They are very interesting creatures.
- Made our own jellyfish in a jar. These turned out really fun. As you tip the jar upside down they'll float all around and actually look like jellyfish.
- Fluttershy made her own restaurant menu. She has a great imagination. We'll have to try this again and attempt to make her creations. I think she got some worth trying. Hot chocolate cookies sure does sound yummy.
Ducklings note: We think Little Quack is a Rouen not a Mallard. The larger cousin to the Mallard. That would explain why she's growing so much faster than her Mallard friend. Guess we'll know for sure when they are full grown. At the moment she's almost double the size of our other dark one, even thought they started out the same size when we bought them. .
