Stopping By the Woods on a Snowy Evening

"Robert Frost's classic, beautiful poem is wonderfully illustrated with soft, snowy pictures."- Rainbow Resources

This week we rowed Robert Frost's Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening.  this delightful book had great illustrations.  Though we don't have much as far as pictures to show what we did a few things we covered were: counting the animals hidden throughout the book and the colors in each page (each page had all gray pictures except 1 or 2 colored pictures).

Fluttershy week:

  • FIAR- Stopping by the woods on a Snowy Evening.

  • Elemental Science: Topic- Fans.  We made fans and had a race to see who could get their toilet paper roll across the finish line first using only the air from the fan.

  • Math- We talked more about ABB patterns and used our linking cubes to made ABB patterns.  We also started into money using pennies to count to ten with the coin face up or face down.

  • Ordinary Parents Guide to teaching reading:  Lesson 63 three consonant Beginning Blends, SCR and STR.

  • She learned how to follow Lego instructions to build her toy 4-wheeler and bunny house.

  • Passed off I See Sam set 2 book 17.

Rarity's week:

  • File folder games: Rhyming words and counting to 6.

  • Painting Sun catchers.  She painted these herself.  She did an awesome job for her age.

  • Play doh.

  • Rainbow sensory bin.  I liked how she filled the muffin tin with the rice and stuck the Popsicle sticks standing up. Both cute and creative.
