Math: Saxon 1 lessons 13-16. Activities in math this week included: identifying inside and outside with shapes on a geoboard, counting to 100, practiced story problems with stuffed animals, and counted pennies with the number chart.
Science: Topic: Sand; Main Idea: Sand is very finely ground rock. Activities this week included: Collecting sand in a jar and adding water to watch the layers separate, making sand “Earth Pies”, playing at the park with sand, and painting with sand.Audio: Little Orphan Annie
Art: Multi Media Lines. For this activity I allowed the girls to pick what media they wanted to use. I provided oil pastels, markers, crayon, and yard.
Reading: Ordinary Parents Guide to Teaching Reading lessons 115-117 Fluttershy played a fun scavenger hunt type game where she got to read the card and place it where she thought it should go. Example: Put this card on a book that looks like it would be good. She then placed it on The Cat in the Hat. There were 15 cards which she easily placed. She also learned the sound “AW and AU”.
